The warthog has warts by its eyes and on its snout - hence its name - and its canines are up to 30 cm long.
Warthogs are mammals that live in Africa. They eat mostly roots, tubers and berries. They have wart-shaped growths under their eyes and on their noses. However, these are not real warts, but rather very thick patches of skin. They protect the pig from wounds after fights. As a weapon against lions, hyenas, leopards and wild dogs, the warthog has its large fangs, but the warthog also has very long legs, and can actually outmaneuver and run from the big cats.
