The European badger has a characteristic light marking across its face. The badger is a dark-active predator. Its black and white fur, long snout and short, strong legs make it easy to recognize.
The badger lives in the forests of Europe, preferably where there are hills. It feeds on earthworms, insects and rodents, as well as grains and berries. With its strong paws, the badger digs a widely branched underground tunnel system that is used for several generations.
