Alpaca yarn is spun from wool from the alpaca, which is related to llamas. It is comparable to regular wool from sheep, but is generally considered to be finer. Alpaca is a soft and durable yarn. It is warmer than regular wool yarn and itches less. It does not contain lanolin and is therefore considered to be more hypoallergenic. It is more water-repellent than many other yarn types and is less flammable.
Alpaca socks can be worn all year round, as the pockets in the fibers allow them to breathe even on hot days. It is not necessary to wash the socks as often as other types of wool, as the wool is self-cleaning and most often just needs fresh air.

OEKO-TEX ® Standard 100 is a guarantee that the product has been tested for harmful chemicals and that only human-ecological textiles have been used that do not have a harmful effect on human health and well-being. The non-slip rubber pads are also approved by this standard.
