When you look at a Tennessee Walker from the side, its legs are not straight up and down, but at an angle. This is especially evident on the hind legs. The leg position makes its special gaits possible: Walk, running walk and edges.
The tail of many Tennessee Walker horses is so long that it reaches the ground.
