Beautiful Simmental calf from Schleich.
Calves are born about once a year. It is very important that they drink their mother's milk within the first few hours. This is a special yellowish liquid called colostrum, which cannot be drunk by humans. It contains many antibodies that help the calf resist disease. After about five days, the calf has had enough colostrum and will then drink normal cow's milk for about ten months, until it can feed exclusively on grass and other plants.

All of the beautiful animals from Schleich are hand-painted and have undergone a wide range of safety and quality tests. The animals are therefore both unique and safe for your child to play with.
